Q: What is the location of the wine tasting events?

A: Your home! My experiences are all about enjoying the art of wine and creating a fun, educational time you can savor from the comfort of your home. Gather your friends, colleagues, or family to explore wine like never before! I bring the tasting room to you, offering a relaxed, judgment-free way to taste and learn about wine.

Q: How should I prepare my home to host a tasting event?

A: You will need a table and chairs for all guests. Table decor is optional, should be kept to a minimum, and is completely up to you on how you want to set it up. Seating at a table is required for all guests as well as for the wine education specialist during the event. If you want suggestions, please let me know and I would be happy to assist in any recommendations for table decor. Just make sure there is enough room for the wine glasses and learning materials.

Q: Do you provide water for the guests?

A: Water is not included as part of the package, however unlimited access to water for all guests during the event is required and necessary.

Q: Is food included in the package?

A: I do not provide food for any of the packages, including the Sip & Savor. However, there is an option to add-on a grazing platter or individual grazing boxes for each guest for an additional fee.

On occasion, I will host a special event where wine and small bites are included in the event package as a pairing. These experiences can also be booked as a Custom Special Event at your home as well.

I highly recommend having small food options for guests to snack on while tasting any wine during the experience.

Q: Do you provide decor for the event?

A: I do not provide decor. However, I provide all the wine glasses, tasting sheets and The Complex Traveler learning materials.

Q: Do you sell any of the wine you curate for the tasting experience?

A: Unfortunately, I do not sell wine. The Complex Traveler Tasting Event is a guided learning experience. My goal is to introduce guests to new wine varieties and regions, creating a unique experience they won’t find anywhere else. I aim to spark curiosity and offer guidance that inspires guests to keep learning and discovering wines and producers on their own. Some wines I curate might be harder to procure, while others may be available at well-known retailers. A key part of each guided learning experience is to showcase and introduce lesser-known regions and producers that guests may not have encountered prior to this experience.

Q: Do I have to provide the wine glasses?

A: No. I provide all of the wine glasses required for each event. I may include several wine glasses for the selected wines in each package, so it is important to have enough space on the table for guests to enjoy comfortably.

Q: Can I request a custom event?

A: Yes. Are you celebrating a birthday? Or do you have another special occasion you want to be a memorable experience? Just email me and we can create a custom event just for you. A minimum of 8 guests is required.

Q: What is the cost of each event?

A: Each event has separate costs based on the level and type of experience. If you are interested in booking an event, please request an inquiry on the booking page and I will provide you with the different packages and prices via email.

Q: Do I have to live in the Sacramento area to host an event at my home?

A: Yes. Currently, I can only travel within a 20-mile radius from Rancho Cordova. However, there may be opportunities in the future where I hold online tasting events. If you are not in the Sacramento area and are interested in an online tasting experience, please email me.

Q: Do you handle events with more than eight people?
